Biology:

- Today you got your unit 2 test back. I gave people the opportunity to get some points back on their test by making corrections. If you were gone and you want an opportunity to gain points back, you need to schedule a time with me outside of class!

- I explained the retake system:

○ Make corrections for every question you missed. You can't take your test with you, so if you need more time for this, you'll have to see me at lunch or office hours.

○ Fill out the "Test Retake Reflection Form" (find one above Sammy's tank). Do what it says (make corrections, meet with me to discuss, study minimum 2 hours, get signed by a parent.)

○ The retake is scheduled for a week from today. If you cannot make this time, you'll need to plan another time with me. Make sure you know everything on the study guide.

- I passed out the unit 3 notes packet. We took notes on section 1 and did the practice on the top of pg. 2. If you were gone, you need to get that notes packet from me and get caught up using my notes on the class notebook. Each class got to a different ending point, so just rely on the class notebook to get the right notes.

- I announced that there will be a quiz this Friday (the 17th). It will be on organelles and functions.


Honors Biology: see above.

Natural Resources:

- Field trip announcement: Birds of Prey. We will be gone during lunch, so please plan for that! 

- We answered unit 2 practice questions 6-10. If you were gone, you will need to answer these on your own.

- We took notes on human impact and keystone species. If you were gone, you can get those notes from the class notebook.

- We started a mini-research project on keystone species. If you were gone, I will have you do a modified version of this. Send me a Teams chat and I will assign you a species to research.

  Biology: - I passed out the study guide for the Unit 1 Test (Friday, 9/12). If you were gone, here is what I explained: This study guide is your ticket for being able to retake the test. If you turn in a completed study guide on the day of the test BEFORE you take your test, then you are eligible for a retake if needed. If you don't turn in a study guide, you won't be penalized - it just means you won't be able to retake the test.  You can choose to complete your study guide however you'd like. If you choose to do it on paper, then I recommend using additional notebook paper to give yourself enough room to answer all the questions thoroughly. I will have a key available for you next week. When you are finished with your study guide, you can check it with my key. Friday, 8/22/25

 Biology: - We finished all the notes up to pg. 3 in the notes packet. Check the class notebook to make sure you get all the information in that table on pg. 3. - If you were gone today, I want you to answer questions 1-2 in your notes packet on the top of pg. 4. We did a sorting activity in class to have a deeper discussion about the purposes of the Bible and science, but I won't have you make that up - just answer questions 1-2 and you're good.  - Some classes might get to the point where we take notes on pg. 4 - check your class notebook to see how far your class got, and catch up to that point.  Biology: - I checked off your desktop apps on your laptops. If you were gone, you need to see me in office hours and show me the desktop apps on your laptop. It will go in the gradebook as "M" (missing) until you show me. - We took the unit 1 quiz. If you were gone, you need to schedule a time with me next week at lunch or after school to take this. It needs to be done before the test on Friday. - I passed out the Daphnia Experimentation lab packet and we took notes on it to prepare for a lab that we are starting on Monday.
