 Biology:

- We reviewed unit 1 content by doing a butcher paper brain dump activity. If you were gone, you don't need to make this up.

- I announced that we will have a quiz this Friday the 5th and a test next Friday the 12th. Tomorrow I will be handing out a study guide for the test.

- We did a couple more practice problems in the notes packet on pgs. 8-9. If you were gone, I want you to finish problems 1-4, then check your answers by looking at my answers on the class notebook.

- We did an activity where you design an experiment based on a prompt that I give you. If you were gone, you don't need to make this up.


Honors Biology: See above.


Natural Resources:

- Announcement: we have a field trip tomorrow! We will be learning how to chemically test water quality at Settler's Pond. We will be back by lunch. You need to bring your notebook, a pencil, and shoes that can get dirty.

- We took notes about turbidity and temperature (2 of the 6 water quality characteristics). If you were gone, you need to get these notes from the class notebook.

Wednesday/Thursday, 9/3 - 9/4

  Biology: - I passed out the study guide for the Unit 1 Test (Friday, 9/12). If you were gone, here is what I explained: This study guide is your ticket for being able to retake the test. If you turn in a completed study guide on the day of the test BEFORE you take your test, then you are eligible for a retake if needed. If you don't turn in a study guide, you won't be penalized - it just means you won't be able to retake the test.  You can choose to complete your study guide however you'd like. If you choose to do it on paper, then I recommend using additional notebook paper to give yourself enough room to answer all the questions thoroughly. I will have a key available for you next week. When you are finished with your study guide, you can check it with my key. This must be done in class or during office hours because I don't ever post the key. - We did a microscope lab to familiarize yourself with a microscope so we can use it for an experiment next week. Friday, 8/22/25

 Biology: - We finished all the notes up to pg. 3 in the notes packet. Check the class notebook to make sure you get all the information in that table on pg. 3. - If you were gone today, I want you to answer questions 1-2 in your notes packet on the top of pg. 4. We did a sorting activity in class to have a deeper discussion about the purposes of the Bible and science, but I won't have you make that up - just answer questions 1-2 and you're good.  - Some classes might get to the point where we take notes on pg. 4 - check your class notebook to see how far your class got, and catch up to that point.  Biology: - I checked off your desktop apps on your laptops. If you were gone, you need to see me in office hours and show me the desktop apps on your laptop. It will go in the gradebook as "M" (missing) until you show me. - We took the unit 1 quiz. If you were gone, you need to schedule a time with me next week at lunch or after school to take this. It needs to be done before the test on Friday. - I passed out the Daphnia Experimentation lab packet and we took notes on it to prepare for a lab that we are starting on Monday.
