Biology:

- Today we started unit 2. I passed out a new notes packet, I did a demo for you, you did your best to explain the demo (by writing an explanation on pg. 7 in your notes), then we took notes on pg. 1. If you were gone, watch this YouTube video to see the demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkYz1WlpRSQ, then get a notes packet from me, then write your best explanation of this on pg. 7, then get the notes you missed on pg. 1.

4th period: I assigned practice problems (pg. 8) #1-4 and 6. You are responsible for getting those done by the end of the unit.

DON'T FORGET: if you want to retake the unit 1 test, you need to go through the process I explained in yesterday's post. You have until Monday the 22nd to take care of the retake process. 


Honors Biology:

Natural Resources:

- Today we practiced analyzing data so you are prepared to analyze the data from the Boise River for your poster. I assigned a Teams assignment called "Practice Data Analysis". This is due on Friday. You will have a little class time to work on Friday, but we will be moving on to the next part, so you won't have a ton of time.

- Don't forget: the other Teams assignment (Water Poster Part 2: Educate the People) is due tonight. You've had two days in class to work on it, so now it's homework to get it done.

Wednesday/Thursday, 9/3 - 9/4

  Biology: - I passed out the study guide for the Unit 1 Test (Friday, 9/12). If you were gone, here is what I explained: This study guide is your ticket for being able to retake the test. If you turn in a completed study guide on the day of the test BEFORE you take your test, then you are eligible for a retake if needed. If you don't turn in a study guide, you won't be penalized - it just means you won't be able to retake the test.  You can choose to complete your study guide however you'd like. If you choose to do it on paper, then I recommend using additional notebook paper to give yourself enough room to answer all the questions thoroughly. I will have a key available for you next week. When you are finished with your study guide, you can check it with my key. This must be done in class or during office hours because I don't ever post the key. - We did a microscope lab to familiarize yourself with a microscope so we can use it for an experiment next week. Friday, 8/22/25

 Biology: - We finished all the notes up to pg. 3 in the notes packet. Check the class notebook to make sure you get all the information in that table on pg. 3. - If you were gone today, I want you to answer questions 1-2 in your notes packet on the top of pg. 4. We did a sorting activity in class to have a deeper discussion about the purposes of the Bible and science, but I won't have you make that up - just answer questions 1-2 and you're good.  - Some classes might get to the point where we take notes on pg. 4 - check your class notebook to see how far your class got, and catch up to that point.  Biology: - I checked off your desktop apps on your laptops. If you were gone, you need to see me in office hours and show me the desktop apps on your laptop. It will go in the gradebook as "M" (missing) until you show me. - We took the unit 1 quiz. If you were gone, you need to schedule a time with me next week at lunch or after school to take this. It needs to be done before the test on Friday. - I passed out the Daphnia Experimentation lab packet and we took notes on it to prepare for a lab that we are starting on Monday.
