Biology:

Today we went over the unit 1 test and I explained how to do a retake. If you were gone, you need to ask me to see your test! Also read through the information below to learn how to do a retake:

How to do a retake:

○ Make corrections for every question you missed. You can't take your test with you, so if you need more time for this, you'll have to see me at lunch or office hours.

○ Fill out the "Test Retake Reflection Form" (find one above Sammy's tank). Do what it says (make corrections, meet with me to discuss, study minimum 2 hours, get signed by a parent.)

○ The retake is scheduled for next Monday the 22nd after school. If you cannot make this time, you'll need to plan another time with me.


Honors bio: same as above. We also discussed experiment ethics - if you were gone, look at pg. 7 on the class notebook and copy that down into your unit 1 notes packet.


Natural Resources: Today was a work day to finish the Teams assignment "Water Poster Part 2: Educate the People". This assignment is due tomorrow but you won't have any more time in class to work on it. I also announced that there is a field trip on Wednesday to the Water Renewal Center: you need to wear close-toed shoes!

  Biology: - I passed out the study guide for the Unit 1 Test (Friday, 9/12). If you were gone, here is what I explained: This study guide is your ticket for being able to retake the test. If you turn in a completed study guide on the day of the test BEFORE you take your test, then you are eligible for a retake if needed. If you don't turn in a study guide, you won't be penalized - it just means you won't be able to retake the test.  You can choose to complete your study guide however you'd like. If you choose to do it on paper, then I recommend using additional notebook paper to give yourself enough room to answer all the questions thoroughly. I will have a key available for you next week. When you are finished with your study guide, you can check it with my key. Friday, 8/22/25

 Biology: - We finished all the notes up to pg. 3 in the notes packet. Check the class notebook to make sure you get all the information in that table on pg. 3. - If you were gone today, I want you to answer questions 1-2 in your notes packet on the top of pg. 4. We did a sorting activity in class to have a deeper discussion about the purposes of the Bible and science, but I won't have you make that up - just answer questions 1-2 and you're good.  - Some classes might get to the point where we take notes on pg. 4 - check your class notebook to see how far your class got, and catch up to that point.  Biology: - I checked off your desktop apps on your laptops. If you were gone, you need to see me in office hours and show me the desktop apps on your laptop. It will go in the gradebook as "M" (missing) until you show me. - We took the unit 1 quiz. If you were gone, you need to schedule a time with me next week at lunch or after school to take this. It needs to be done before the test on Friday. - I passed out the Daphnia Experimentation lab packet and we took notes on it to prepare for a lab that we are starting on Monday.
