Wednesday/Thursday, 8/20 - 8/21

 Biology:

- The whole point of today was to learn about various worldviews and how different worldviews can lead to different conclusions in science. We took notes on pgs. 2-3. If you were gone, you can get those from the class notebook.

- If you were gone, one thing I need from you is for you to write a paragraph telling me about your worldview (you can type this and send to me on Teams chat, or handwrite it and give it to me in person). Here are the instructions I posted in class:


Honors Biology: 

- See above, and ALSO: check Teams to see the assignment called "Article Response: Atheism and Science". You need to read an article and then answer the questions that are attached to the Teams assignment. If you were gone, ask me for this article and I can send it to you. This assignment is due Friday by 11:59 PM (unless you were absent today - then you get 2 extra days to complete the assignment).


Natural Resources:

Field trip to the Boise River to sample macroinvertebrates.

  Biology: - I passed out the study guide for the Unit 1 Test (Friday, 9/12). If you were gone, here is what I explained: This study guide is your ticket for being able to retake the test. If you turn in a completed study guide on the day of the test BEFORE you take your test, then you are eligible for a retake if needed. If you don't turn in a study guide, you won't be penalized - it just means you won't be able to retake the test.  You can choose to complete your study guide however you'd like. If you choose to do it on paper, then I recommend using additional notebook paper to give yourself enough room to answer all the questions thoroughly. I will have a key available for you next week. When you are finished with your study guide, you can check it with my key. This must be done in class or during office hours because I don't ever post the key. - We did a microscope lab to familiarize yourself with a microscope so we can use it for an experiment next week. Friday, 8/22/25

 Biology: - We finished all the notes up to pg. 3 in the notes packet. Check the class notebook to make sure you get all the information in that table on pg. 3. - If you were gone today, I want you to answer questions 1-2 in your notes packet on the top of pg. 4. We did a sorting activity in class to have a deeper discussion about the purposes of the Bible and science, but I won't have you make that up - just answer questions 1-2 and you're good.  - Some classes might get to the point where we take notes on pg. 4 - check your class notebook to see how far your class got, and catch up to that point.  Biology: - I checked off your desktop apps on your laptops. If you were gone, you need to see me in office hours and show me the desktop apps on your laptop. It will go in the gradebook as "M" (missing) until you show me. - We took the unit 1 quiz. If you were gone, you need to schedule a time with me next week at lunch or after school to take this. It needs to be done before the test on Friday. - I passed out the Daphnia Experimentation lab packet and we took notes on it to prepare for a lab that we are starting on Monday.
